Silent Night

Posted on December 10th, 2007 in Elizabeth's Designs by Dee

I can’t get enough of Elizabeth’s Designs. As soon as i finish my previous design by ED, i started stitching this one. Im addicted to stitching the tree. I love how the tree looked. This one is a free graph, i have included this free graph on any order from the shop during this month. As i don’t have the suggested fabric, i use my fabric from my stash, it is the Silkweaver hand-dyed fabric “silver mist”.

Gotta stitch this!

It was my reaction when i first saw this design in the book ” Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornaments, 10 th Anniversary Collection”. The Designer is Elizabeth’s Designs. I have always love her designs, she always have cute charms and beads attached on her pieces plus she uses different kind of special stitching to bring out that ‘textured’ effect. They are a joy to stitch.

Beading

Posted on November 27th, 2007 in Cross Stitch by Dee

If you can cross stitch, then you will have no problem beading. They are using the same concept, it’s just another step of putting the beads into the needle and down your threads. I love to use beads when i want to give that ‘pop out’ effect. This pot of flower is done entirely in beads. I do have one where i did a little daisy flower (using only 6 beads to make the whole flower) in front of my name. It turns out really cute, really stands out.

Thank you for looking, my friends…..

Live Laugh Love

Posted on November 27th, 2007 in Sisters and Best Friends by Dee

First of all, im sorry to all my readers that i haven’t been able to update my blog as often as i wish, the shop has been quite busy these few days. Christmas is coming, so im happy to see many of you stitching up to give that personal christmas gift. Christmas is special, it is even more special when it is handmade.

“Live well, Laugh often, Love much”……. a very simple thing and yet many of us don’t seem to be doing it often. I stitched this up and framed it, and it is now hanging in my living room.

Ivy Wreath

Posted on November 12th, 2007 in Danish designs by Dee

Here is Gerda Bengtsson’s design that i have stitched. It looked so peaceful , don’t you think? Stitching under a shady tree with her baby sleeping in her pram. I love the serenity feel of this piece.

Danish Stitchery

Posted on November 2nd, 2007 in Danish designs by Dee

One of my favourite designer from Danish Handcraft Guild is Gerda Bengtsson. Her designs are of a variety of subjects but the one that captured my heart is her designs of the nature. Her floral motifs are as real and beautiful as the real thing. I also love the way she designs her human motif, they always look cute no matter what. She also designs many attractive series that shows traditional Copenhagen street scenes throughout the year, Here are a few samples of her designs of the Four Season (and are available at our shop), Please Enjoy!!
